Mark Pisoni has a connection with the soil. Mark is the third-generation farmer who manages Pisoni Vineyards, initially planted by his maverick father in 1982. The tradition that Mark carries on—and elevates each year—is one that the legendary Gary Pisoni dreamed of and created in the rocky and mountainous landscape now known as the Santa Lucia Highlands. The vineyard has been described by numerous critics as one of California’s Grand Cru sites.
Today, Mark extends his detail and love of the land to all three vineyards the family works with: Pisoni, Garys’ and Soberanes Vineyards. Mark works alongside his brother and winemaker, Jeff Pisoni. Together, the family grows and produces some of the state's most prestigious Pinot Noir.
Mark will be speaking at the Celebrating 20 Years of Garys' Vineyard Seminar on Saturday, March 5, from 9:30am-11:30am.
