Description

Founded in 2005 by California wine pioneer Richard Sanford, Alma Rosa Winery produces a range of Pinot Noirs that express the unique terroir of the Sta. Rita Hills , where Richard planted the first Pinot Noir vines in the region in 1971. Our wines are layered, vibrant and balanced, reflecting our special terroir. Our appellation benefits from the cool Pacific Ocean breezes that are funneled inland through the unique transverse mountain range of the region. The Alma Rosa vineyard estate is located on the northern slopes of the Santa Rosa Mountains, where we have a total of 44 planted acres of grapes planted across 5 non-contiguous hillside vineyards.
