  • 2018 Doc's Ranch Vineyard Pommard Selection Pinot Noir
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
The vines responded to that marginal protection from the coast in 2018, preserving summer in their fruit. It might give you the high of walking through a grassy meadow, the rush of the scent of a rose as it opens to the sun, the cool of an evening in July when wild raspberries and cherries provide the most satisfying and simple dessert. What ties it back to the coast is the texture of the wine, an idealized take on the supple tannins of the stems and the skins of the grapes, a detailed pattern that pinot noir can achieve in close proximity to the Pacific.- 98PTS, Josh Greene, Wine & Spirits, Fall 2022.
    Suggested Retail Price: $80
  • 2019 Wendling Vineyard Pinot Noir
    Anderson Valley
    Expand
Medium ruby, the 2019 Pinot Noir Wendling Vineyard offers pure cranberry, red cherry, pomegranate and rhubarb fruit, with accents of forest floor, conifer and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate is powerful and spicy, with loads of silty tannins, a deep core of spicy fruit and a very long, nuanced finish. It has more to give with an additional 2-3 years in bottle. - 96+PTS, Erin Brooks, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Fall 2022
    Suggested Retail Price: $85
  • 2019 Doc's Ranch Vineyard JoAnn's Block Chardonnay
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
The 2019 Chardonnay Doc's Ranch Vineyard JoAnn's Block has intense aromas of white peaches, beeswax, roasted almonds, biscuit and flint. The medium-bodied palate is savory and textural, with a biscuity character that adds breadth and savoriness. It has seamless acidity and a very long finish that offers continually shifting flavors. It's very energetic and will be long lived in the cellar. - 97PTS, Erin Brooks, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Fall 2022
    Suggested Retail Price: $70
  • 2021 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
Having amassed a quiver of different sites on the western edges of the coast, Ross has put together a wine that showcases both his style of wine making, and the cool-climate nature of the Sonoma Coast. This wine is an absolute pleasure, showing giving fruit up front with lots of red notes on the palate and classic structure and acidity that has become a hallmark for Cobb Wines. Though it will age for years like all of Ross’s wines, this bottling can be thoroughly enjoyed the year it is released.
    Suggested Retail Price: $65

Description

Cobb Wines is a small family-owned winery based in the western portion of the Sonoma Coast. Owner and Winemaker Ross Cobb has championed Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay throughout his career at William Selyem, Flowers and Hirsch Wineries. Founded in 2001, Cobb Wines now produces Pinots and Chardonnays from the Sonoma Coast and Anderson Valley along with a small amount of Riesling. The estate Vineyard Coastlands was planted by Ross and his parents in 1989 and remains a piece of viticultural history sitting at 1150 ft above sea level and just three miles from the Pacific Ocean. The original Diane Cobb block is own-rooted and today still produces some of the best fruit from the estate.
