Cono Sur was founded in 1993 around the oldest Pinot Noir vineyards in Chile. We were the first in Chile to produce premium Pinot Noir, and also the first to export the variety. Our “Pinot Noir Project” started in 1999, with the aim of producing the best Pinot Noir in Chile: unique, expressive and proud of its New World roots, while vinified according to the Burgundian tradition.
The company distinguishes itself by three main features: the creative use of technology, orientation towards quality, and respect for the environment. Cono Sur´s names refers the company´s geographic position, representing wines proudly made in South America´s southern cone, on whose western edge lies Chile and its gifted wine valleys.
Cono Sur is part of the Viña Concha y Toro family of wineries. Founded in 1883, Viña Concha y Toro has become the leading wine producer in Latin America with a prominent position among the world's most important wine companies and a presence in more than 130 countries. The company owns around 11,600 hectares of vineyards in Chile, Argentina and the United States.
