  • 2017 "Erinn"
    Sta. Rita Hills/Ampelos Vineyard
    Expand
100% Ampelos Estate Pinot Noir, 100% free run juice - Peter Work is our winemaker. Some winemaking decisions: native yeast fermentation (Mother Nature is pretty amazing) no inoculation for malolactic fermentation, artificial color, tannin powder, fermentation aids, nutrients, or additional acids were used. The fruit was farmed organic, biodynamic and sustainable in practice. Kurt Russell always does the blend and chooses the oak profile. "Erinn" is composed of clone 115 (39%), 777 (10%), 155/667 (13%), 828 (8%), 459 (10%), 2a (5%) and Pommard 4 (15%). This wine was aged in exclusively French oak for 24 months (23% new barrels - Boutes, Sequin-Moreau, TW Boswell). 92 Points, Wine Spectator.

Description

Kurt Russell's GoGi Wines exclusively produces Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the esteemed Sta. Rita Hills AVA. The brand continues to enjoy an ever growing and loyal following of our small lot Pinot Noir. It is crafted with organic and biodynamic fruit using 100% free-run juice. While Kurt loves being a cellar rat under the watchful eye of Peter and Rebecca Work of Ampelos Cellars, blending day is his favorite! After regular visits to the winery and months of barrel tasting, Kurt carefully chooses the clones, their percentages and the oak profile for his Burgundian style Pinot.
