  • 2020 One Sixteen Chardonnay
    Russian River Valley
    Expand
Celebrating the cool-climate character and complexity of California’s most revered winegrowing regions, our 2020 Appellation Series wines are a study in terroir with soulful elegance and energetic intensity. The marine influence that follows the Russian River inland from the Pacific coast is a powerful attribute of this region. The fog helps keep nights cool and offers the vines a well-deserved break from daytime temperatures. The collection of famous Chardonnay vineyards that we work with for this wine are located in the coolest parts of the Russian River Valley. Here, fruit can mature gracefully on the vine, which we find offers us more intensely focused flavors. Individual pressed lots were fermented in barrel or foudres, all 100% native primary and malolactic fermentations, which adds depth and complexity to the finished wine. From its rich yet lean and focused structure to the vivid notes of citrus, honeysuckle, and crème brûlée, this wine has a vivacious acidity and is worth the wait.

  • 2020 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
    Sta. Rita Hills
    Expand
Celebrating the cool-climate character and complexity of California’s most revered winegrowing regions, our Appellation Series wines are a study in terroir with soulful elegance and energetic intensity. A microclimate that began 20 million years ago is nothing short of a miracle. Over the years, tectonic plate movements caused mountains to rise out of the ocean, break off the plate, and rotate clockwise, creating one of the most defined, transverse ranges on the Pacific Coast. This distinctive feature of the purely East/West maritime mouth funnels cooling coastal fog and wind to the vines. Sta. Rita Hills is one of the world’s best cool-climate growing regions of Pinot Noir. The 2020 Sta. Rita Hills harvest began two weeks earlier due to several heat spikes throughout the summer and extended an additional five weeks due to slow ripening conditions which led to high quality and character development of the grapes. Bursting with vibrant red fruit, baking spice, and an earthy core, this fascinatingly layered wine is delightfully unique.

  • 2020 Gevrey Chambertain Pinot Noir
    Burgundy
    Expand
The beginning of the 2020 Burgundy harvest marked the earliest start to picking in the last 25 years, and the warmer-than-average temperatures with a lack of precipitation reduced the yield of many crops. Thankfully, the grapes that thrived produced wines with unbelievable freshness, texture, concentration, and vibrant acidity. Gevrey-Chambertin is located in the far northeast of Burgundy, about 15 km south of Dijon. Originally planted in the 1st century, the hallowed limestone soils in the Côte de Nuits are the source for profoundly structured and enchanting wines. Ancient folklore suggests this region was named after the vintner who planted its first vines—Bertin. Known to many as the “king” of Burgundy, many have taken an interest in this wine, but none more notably than Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, who brought much acclaim to this vineyard in the 1800s. This stunning Pinot Noir was aged in 30% new French oak and leads with dark fruit, leather, and blackberry aromas, while mineral underpinnings and smooth tannins punctuate the full-bodied palate.
    Suggested Retail Price: $135.00
  • 2016 Keefer Ranch Pinot Noir
    Russian River Valley
    Expand
This Estate vineyard lies within Green Valley, in the southwestern corner of the Russian River Valley. Here, gently rolling hills harbor some of the coolest conditions within the appellation - fog, breezes and fresh nights help vines balance their ripening with warm afternoon sunshine. A heralded property, Keefer has been in the Kosta Browne family since 2005 and we are drawn to the terrific natural acidity and elegance in the grapes we farm here. In 2013, we were delighted to strengthen our relationship with this iconic Pinot vineyard by purchasing 20 acres. We are proud to continue Marcy Keefer's legacy by producing incredible wines.
    Suggested Retail Price: $265.00
  • 2017 Cerise Vineyard Pinot Noir
    Anderson Valley
    Expand
Over the past quarter-century, the Anderson Valley has emerged as the source for some of California’s most distinctive wines, and Cerise as one of the valley’s most preeminent vineyards. Rising from 587 to 1,620 feet, its steep, unforgiving terrain results in thought-provoking wines that combine a rustic spirit with stunning energy and opulence. Pinot Noir blocks sit on the eastern side of the valley, facing west, 16 miles from the coast. There is not a single block on flat ground. Carefully harvested over five weeks from vineyard blocks ranging in elevation, this is a beautifully complex and cerebral wine. There is a freshness of bright cherry and strawberry aromas, underscored by subtle notes of vanilla bean and herbes de Provence. On the palate, a sleek acidity and fine tannins add structure and tension to the enticing berry and spice flavors, drawing the wine to a polished finish.
    Suggested Retail Price: $255.00
  • 2018 Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
Gap’s Crown is considered by many to be one of the best representations of what the Petaluma Gap AVA, the southern component of Sonoma Coast, is all about. Since we began working with this site in 2006, its meteoric rise into the pantheon of great Pinot Noir vineyards has been extraordinary. Sweeping vineyards with dramatic elevation changes and clonal variety define this exemplary site. Each year, this Pinot Noir dazzles with its stunning purity and lush flavors—and 2018 is no exception. From its mouthwatering tension to its seductive, flowing flavors of blueberry, blackberry pie, and honeycomb, this is classic Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. To capture the site’s vibrancy, the majority of the wine was fermented in stainless steel, with a small portion aged in concrete to enhance the wine’s irresistible mouthfeel.

  • 2017 Gary's Vineyard Pinot Noir Magnum
    Santa Lucia Highlands
    Expand
In 2017, Mother Nature delivered a concentrated harvest and our talented team worked tirelessly to bring the fruit in at peak quality. These wines are inspired by our desire to capture the essence of many of California's best vineyards for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This place-driven focus guides every decision in both vineyard and cellar, and each year we strive to produce exemplary representations of vintage and terroir. The Santa Lucia Highlands appellation is centered upon the two Garys’, and it is fitting they should have a vineyard that is a tribute to their collaboration. Garys’ is a viticultural partnership between Gary Franscioni and Gary Pisoni, where their experience and passion for farming are poured into this exceptional site. The benefactor of one of California’s longest growing seasons, which results in slow and gentle fruit development on the vine, this wine displays rhubarb, vibrant citrus zest and spiced plum. A 19-month barrel program preserves this wine’s electric character.
    Suggested Retail Price: $488.00

These wines are inspired by our desire to capture the essence of many of California's best vineyards for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This place-driven focus guides every decision in both vineyard and cellar, and each year we strive to produce exemplary representations of vintage and terroir. Farmed by legendary winegrower Gary Franscioni and named after his wife, this vineyard experiences a maritime climate with strong winds blown in from Monterey Bay. Foggy mornings with sunny afternoons keep these coastal slopes much cooler than the Salinas Valley just to the east. We only receive a small portion of this 50-acre vineyard, but the prevailing wine features wild strawberry, prickly pear, blood orange and watermelon rind. An exciting Pinot Noir, with exotic spice traits and strong cellaring potential.

Founders Dan Kosta and Michael Browne started with humble beginnings while working together in a local restaurant in 1997. Through perseverance, passion, and hard work, our wines became the source of some of America's greatest terroir-driven Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, eventually earning Wine Spectator's "Wine of the Year" for our 2009 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.

Today, we have roots in the most sought-after soils on the West Coast. From the windswept Sonoma Coast to the hallowed vine rows of the Russian River Valley to the untamed Anderson Valley and the cool-climate enclaves of the Santa Lucia Highlands and Sta. Rita Hills, we are honored to work with some of the most celebrated vineyards while remaining dedicated to the values of our founders. Obsessed with quality and unafraid to seek artistry by being unconventional, our team continues its mission, meticulously crafting irresistible wines with thought-provoking complexity and ever-evolving character.
