We like to call Lane Tanner Santa Barbara's OG, the original girl. She started making Pinot Noir in the Santa Maria Valley in the early 80's and has been doing so, with style, ever since. In 2012 she and restaurateur Will Henry launched Lumen, with the mission of making world-class Pinot Noir from one of the coldest growing regions in the state. Their winemaking style is low to zero intervention, with a nod towards old-world technique. They planted their first estate vineyards last year in the Solomon Hills region of the Santa Maria Valley.
