    Annapolis is located in the Sonoma Coast and planted on a 30 degree slope in Goldridge fine sand loam soil The ranch is extremely isolated and requires a lot of handwork to farm. Nuance and intrigue characterize the wine, starting with a dark crimson and a ruby rim but manifested by the aromatics: white pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, pine resin and crème de menthe. An entry dominated by a bright acidity, the mid-palate explores characteristics of rhubarb, savory and a hint of wild strawberry with a long finish indicative of graceful aging.

  • 2018 Sleepy Hollow Pinot Noir

    Sleepy Hollow which is located in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA was the surprise wine of the vintage. To the eye, a lucid crimson sits in the glass. Aromatics of ripe cranberries, forest floor, morels and a touch of bramble engage. The wine slips onto the palate with a silky, enveloping entry of pure juice and ripe cherry with layers evolving while breathing. Incredibly balanced and riveting, the wine closes with concentration and finesse—an exemplar of drinkability.

  • 2018 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir

    Glowing from the glass with a crimson core and a pale blush on the rim, the 2018 Sta. Rita Hills opens with whispers of fresh pomegranate seeds, strawberry gelato, crème fraiche and fig leaf. The palate is layered and round exhibiting notes of strawberry preserves, redcurrant and rhubarb crisp. Slight oak tannins present themselves on the finish coupled with a hint of lemon, pepper brine.

Andy Warhol’s iconic studio, “the factory”, was a gathering place for drag queens, rock stars, and brilliant artists. Inspired by his studio, l’usine translates to “the factory” in French. The name paying tribute to those who desire something against the mold. Dave, honoring his rebel within, created a portfolio for the “Warhol’s” of the world. l'usine is Dave Phinney’s continued passion and journey to master Pinot Noir. Sourced from some of the best vineyards he chooses in any given vintage, these wines express the artistry of the winemaking process. To honor the rebel within, the front labels display art rather than displaying the grape variety or its origin which is typical in this category. The labels speak to the “Warhol's” of the world and reflect the personality of each bottle.
