  This Pinot Noir is a medley of Tolosa’s estate vineyard Edna Ranch. The estate vineyard is spread throughout the Edna Valley, producing six unique vineyard sections with 60 soil types and a myriad of microclimates. The greater composition of this wine comes from the Hollister and Monighetti sections of Edna Ranch, while the balance comes from Stornetta and Moretti Canyon. With an assortment of grapes, this wine features clone 777, HMR, 667, 115 and Pommard. The 777 clone elevates the fruity notes in the wine that were a little shy from the cooler vintage, as HMR, Pommard and 115 help build the structure in the wine.

• 2019 1772 Stone Lion Pinot Noir

  The Stone Lion Pinot Noir is liquid muscle with powerful minerality and energetic fruit characteristics. The mild growing season allowed us to harvest the grapes in late September, as preferred for this commanding style of wine. We allow certain vineyard blocks to hang on the vine longer to achieve optimal ripeness, which builds a slightly bolder tannin structure complimented with a luscious mouthfeel. The wine is fermented in stainless steel open top tanks at a warmer temperature to extract more tannin and add textural layers. The wine aged in French oak barrels for 9 months, with 23% of them being new.

• 2019 Primera Pinot Noir

  Our flagship, Primera, demonstrates the full potential that makes Pinot Noir one of the most coveted grapes in the world. The grapes are hand-picked in the early morning in small yellow bins to avoid undue pressure on the fruit. Then, they are sorted by an optical sorting machine before going into open top stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Only the finest choice of French oak barrels is used to age our highest echelon wine. Its eye-catching bottle is enough to entice, but once introduced to the wine, the power, layers and length dominate the conversation. This is a statement Pinot Noir for the enophile looking to add a marquee wine to their cellar.
