Christopher Hyde

General Manager at Hyde Vineyard Estate Winery

Christopher Hyde has always had a passion for farming. While studying Agricultural Business and Viticulture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Christopher returned to Hyde Vineyards during the summer to drive tractors working in the vineyard, coupled with a brief internship in sales at Wilson Daniels. In 2006 he helped his father plant a block of Pinot Noir for their own wine label which produced its first vintage in 2009.

In 2010, after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Farm Management, Chris went to work at Merryvale Vineyards in the vineyard, and then in the cellar at Starmont Winery. The following year Chris came back to the family business and assumed the role of General Manager at Hyde Vineyards. In 2014 he also took on the role of Director of Viticulture at HdeV Winery. In 2015, as Chris received his MBA from Sonoma State University’s Wine-Business Executive Master’s program, the initiation of construction for the Hyde Vineyard Estate Winery in Carneros started, which opened its doors in August 2017 where Chris became General Manager.

Now a days, Chris lives on the vineyards operating the family businesses alongside his wife, Shannon. In his free time, Christopher enjoys mountain biking, skiing, wine, and traveling.

Christopher is a panelist for The New "Grand Cru" of California Seminar on Friday, March 1, from 9:30am - 11:30am.
