  • 2021 Chimera
    Russian River
    Expand
Chimera is one of my earliest wines, the name taken from Greek mythology... "a monster comprised of three different animals" as is depicted on the label. Originally blended from three vineyards back in 2001, it now primarily comes from the Middle Reach of Russian River where mildly warmer weather evokes rich and full flavors.
    Suggested Retail Price: $34
  • 2021 Grays'
    Santa Lucia Highlands
    Expand
Garys’ Vineyard is a highly acclaimed and storied site owned by two Garys; Franscioni and Pisoni. It was planted in the mid ‘90’s to the Pisoni clone of Pinot Noir in Santa Lucia Highlands Arroyo Seco sandy loam soil receiving 10-13 inches of rain a year. Steady Monterey Bay winds provide a long and steady growing season. With my first vintage of Garys’ in 1999 , I became dedicated to the quality of this special place and could sense its old-world beginnings and it’s ability to rival some of the great Burgundy “grand cru” sites.
    Suggested Retail Price: $50
  • 2021 Widdoes
    Russian River
    Expand
I've had access to Widdoes Vineyard for 28 years; named for its posthumous owner, Don Widdoes, and farmed by Dutton Ranch who planted Martini clone Pinot Noir in 1982. The soil is quintessential Russian River Goldridge fine sandy loam. Located just West of the little town of Graton, it is a magical location for pinot noir. The fog rolls in first and burns off late in this Green Valley sub-appellation. Dry farmed.
    Suggested Retail Price: $50

Description

Sean Capiaux founded Capiaux Cellars in 1994, dedicated to producing single vineyard bottlings of Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir has always been recognized as one of the noblest red wines, and also one of the most difficult varieties to produce. It has many faces and expressions, from light and fruity to dark and earthy. It is these nuances and qualities that excite us to continually pursue the "Holy Grail" of Pinot Noir.

Our winemaking style is a blend of classic and contemporary, utilizing cutting edge fermentation equipment paired with natural hands-on winemaking, our emphasis is on balance. All the wines are naturally fermented, unfined and unfiltered to preserve innate flavors and aromas.
