  • 2022 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
Over the history of Cobb Wines, Ross has had the privilege of working with an array of high-quality vineyards throughout the region. Having amassed a quiver of different sites on the western edges of the coast, Ross has put together a wine that showcases both his style of wine making, and the cool-climate nature of the Sonoma Coast. This wine is an absolute pleasure, showing giving fruit up front with lots of red notes on the palate and classic structure and acidity that has become a hallmark for Cobb Wines. Though it will age for years like all of Ross’s wines, this bottling can be thoroughly enjoyed the year it is released.

  • 2022 Rice-Spivak Vineyard Pinot Noir
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
Rice-Spivak is one of the most consistent vineyards we work with. Year after year this site yields some of the most high-quality and approachable wines in our portfolio. This site has a layer of volcanic ash deep in the soil that gives the Pinot Noir here a profile that highlights lots of available fruit but with a backbone of structure and minerality.

  • 2021 Coastlands Vineyard Pinot Noir
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
The 2021 Pinot Noir Coastlands Vineyard comes from vines planted between 1989 and 1998 in marine sedimentary soils at 1,150 feet above sea level. Made with 40% whole clusters, it opens with aromas of saline and red licorice, plus a touch of spicy oak from its recent bottling, over a deep core of pomegranate and lavender. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated, layered flavors supported by a firm frame of chalky tannins and focused acidity, and it has a long finish loaded with latent, spicy accents. It's powerful and nuanced, but it's developing a bit more slowly than the other 2021s. It deserves several years in bottle to unwind and will be long lived. 775 cases were made. -96+ Points, Erin Brooks, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
    Suggested Retail Price: $85
  • 2021 Doc's Ranch Vineyard Swan & Calera Selection Pinot Noir
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
The 2021 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Swan & Calera Selection comes from Calera and Swan clone vines planted in marine sedimentary soil at 1,000 to 1,100 feet in altitude. Made with 50% whole clusters, it opens with pure tones of cinnamon, red cherry and pomegranate; and with time in the glass, it reveals nuances of Earl Grey tea leaves, tangerine, aniseed and rosewater. The light-bodied palate has a weightless feel with its finely chalky tannins and shimmery acidity, yet it offers highly concentrated, nuanced flavors and has a long, expressive finish. 330 cases were made. -96PTS, Erin Brooks, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
    Suggested Retail Price: $95
  • 2021 Doc's Ranch Vineyard JoAnn's Block Chardonnay
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
The 2021 Chardonnay Doc's Ranch Vineyard Joann's Block comes from vines planted in marine sedimentary soils at 1,000 feet in altitude. It underwent full malolactic conversion and was matured in 10% new French oak for 22 months. It has delicate, slowly unwinding scents of golden apples, bread dough, beeswax, saline and matchstick. The light-bodied palate is intensely focused, with a tangy spine of acidity driving expansive fruits that seem to gain in intensity as it glides through the mouth, and a touch of texture lengthens the finish. Reminiscent of Chablis, the Joann's Block offers surprising flavor for its modest 11.2% alcohol, and it will be long lived in bottle. 260 cases were made. - 96+PTS, Erin Brooks, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate,
    Suggested Retail Price: $80

Description

In 2001, two generations of the Cobb family came together to explore a shared passion for Pinot Noir. David and Diane were pioneers of the far Sonoma Coast when they planted Coastlands Vineyard with their son Ross in 1989.

After spending nearly a decade honing his winemaking skills, Ross approached his parents with the idea of founding Cobb Wines with a vision that would allow the family to guide every step of the process, from the farming of the vineyard to the crafting of a style that celebrated the site. The first vintage of Coastlands Vineyard Pinot Noir was a mere 130 cases. Today, Ross both farms Coastlands Vineyard and lives on property with his wife and daughter.

Here at Cobb we pride ourselves on wines that represent the places to which they were grown. Our ethos is centered around three Estate Vineyards, a focus on cool climate sites, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling.
