The nose leads with a rich and dense burst of wild berry, underlain with a sweet floral tone. Mushroom and redwood duff play backup, adding to the complex layers of the aromas, luring you in to take the first sip. The mouth is packed with juicy raspberry and marionberry, with supporting notes of sandalwood, nutmeg and thyme.

  • 2016 Pinot Noir McDougall Vineyard
    Fort Ross Seaview
    Expand
The long 2016 season suited our McDougall Pinot well, giving our big-boned Sonoma Coast wine great balance and acidity. Juicy aromas of black cherry and dried cranberry are underlain with herbal bay leaf, spicy floral geranium, a whip of red licorice, and a dash of black tea. The density and richness of the taste to come is evident as you sink your nose into the glass to soak it all in. Candied raspberry and cherry fill your mouth at first sip, providing a solid core of structured fruit around which sandalwood, granite, and cola wrap their savory duskiness. Spicy berry crumble pie rides on firm tannins on the lengthy finish.
    Suggested Retail Price: $78.00

  • 2021 Pinot Noir Docker Hill Vineyard
    Mendocino County

This cool site is always among our last picked, giving the vineyard the long hang time that provides an extra dose of richness to the fruit. The nose is seductive and juicy with brambly blackberry and boysenberry accompanied by luscious cherry compote. Sandalwood spice and notes of dried purple flowers round out the aromatics. A berry explosion of plush and mouth filling sweet fruit follows in the mouth, with cedar and baking spice notes adding complexity. The velvety rich texture continues on to a blackberry cobbler finish.
