t all started over 40 years ago, when Ben Papapietro fell in love with the Burgundy wines of France while working as a teamster at the San Francisco Newspaper Agency. Ben was so taken with the winemaking process that he started making wine as a hobby in his San Francisco garage in 1980. His co-worker, Bruce Perry, joined Ben in 1985. They both followed in their grandfathers' footsteps making wine in the garage and to the delight of their family and friends both also enjoyed sharing their wine at family functions and parties. Today, they continue to make small lots of high-quality wines, including 10 different bottlings of Pinot Noir from the Russian River, Sonoma Coast and Anderson Valley areas of California. Their commitment to quality has garnered them numerous accolades from top local, national and international critics.
