Rhys Vineyards started from a bold premise; that in California, where Pinot Noir is still a relatively new grape, there are still great terroirs to be discovered. Over the past 30 years, our quest to find these remarkable winegrowing sites has led us to plant eight organically farmed estate vineyards in the remote reaches of the Santa Cruz Mountains and in the hillsides and mountains of Mendocino County and the Anderson Valley. To preserve the charm and character of each vineyard, we practice a gentle, egoless winemaking approach that highlights the individual expressions of soil and site that we prize. The results are elegant, age-worthy wines that offer energy, succulence and a sense of what we call “somewhereness.” We invite you to discover the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Chenin Blanc, Riesling and sparkling wines from our Home, Alpine, Family Farm, Horseshoe, Skyline, Mt. Pajaro, and Bearwallow vineyards.
