  • 2020 Schramsberg Vineyards Blanc de Noirs
    North Coast
    Expand
Blanc de Noirs (white from black) is the counterpart to Blanc de Blancs (white from white). Made primarily from the red grape Pinot Noir, this is a complex, medium-bodied, brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg pioneered the Blanc de Noirs style in the United States, producing the first such commercial American sparkler in 1967. The key to producing this Blanc de Noirs is our sourcing of Pinot Noir grapes from a vast and varied selection of cool-climate vineyards. Pinot Noir from low-yielding Sonoma and Marin coastal vineyards combine with fruit from Carneros and Anderson Valley sites, to develop a sparkling wine with a breadth of fruitful aroma and flavor. Select Chardonnay lots are then added, to give zest and backbone to the blend. “The 2020 Blanc de Noirs expresses generous aromas of yellow peach, apricot, lemon zest and glazed orange, layered with elderflower, almond paste, and puff pastry. A bright, tart and lively palate opens with nuances of lemon bar, honey, and custard, and is carried with a dense, juicy center and a long quenching finish.” - Winemakers Sean Thompson, Jessica Koga and Hugh Davies
    Suggested Retail Price: $46.00
  • 2020 Schramsberg Vineyards Brut Rosé
    North Coast
    Expand
Schramsberg Brut Rosé is fruitful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an apéritif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown along California’s North coast from southern Mendocino County to northern Marin County. A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this vibrant sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate. This Brut Rosé opens with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and Bing cherry; which interweave with hints of golden apple and pear; and are brightened by notes of rangpur lime and mandarin orange. The palate bursts with juicy red berry, summer stone fruit, pineapple, and tangerine, complemented by candied apple and creamy vanilla. This is all supported and balanced by refreshing acidity and a lingering finish.” - Winemakers Jessica Koga, Sean Thompson and Hugh Davies
    Suggested Retail Price: $50.00
  • 2021 Davies Vineyards "Keefer Ranch" Pinot Noir
    Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast
    Expand
The Keefer Ranch is located along the Green Valley Creek in the Russian River Valley. The vineyard is planted on gently sloping, south-facing Goldridge Loam soil. Well drained throughout the growing season, this ground is moderately vigorous, ideally suited for the growth of densely concentrated Pinot Noir wine grapes. The vineyard profits from a long, cool hang time resulting in fruit with outstanding color, extraction, and balanced tannins. Keefer Ranch Pinot Noir delivers ripe cherry, bright cranberry, sweet spice, lively acidity, soft tannins, and supple texture. “This Keefer Ranch Pinot Noir opens with aromas of berry pie, black plum, and dried cherry, which are supported with hints of cocoa, cinnamon, bay leaf and maple. The palate presents a silky entry that reveals a broad and luscious center, showcasing juicy flavors of Bing cherry, raspberry, red mulberry, and cranberry. Nuances of rhubarb, coffee, and dark chocolate interplay with the primary flavors, bringing subtle complexity and depth.” - Winemakers Jessica Koga, Sean Thompson and Hugh Davies
    Suggested Retail Price: $80.00
  • 2021 Davies Vineyards "Ferrington Vineyards" Pinot Noir
    Anderson Valley
    Expand
The Ferrington Vineyards property, located approximately 100 miles north of San Francisco and 17 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, is in a fertile pocket of land found at the edge of the northeastern foothills of Mendocino County’s Anderson Valley. Between 360 and 440 feet above sea level, the vines utilize over six feet of Boontling and Pinole loam soil, sustainable farming practices, and deficit irrigation to produce approximately 2.5 tons per acre of bright, complex fruit with great balance. Cool, foggy nights and steadily warming days provide a long, even growing season which delivers mature fruit depth with a vibrant, acidic backbone. “This Ferrington Vineyards Pinot Noir delivers aromas of dark cherry, plum and dried orange peel, with layers of dark cocoa, vanilla, and coffee. With a bright entry, the palate’s dense midpalate presents flavors of boysenberry and red cherry, with a barely noticeable undertone of red licorice that lingers on the finish.” - Winemakers Jessica Koga, Sean Thompson and Hugh Davies
    Suggested Retail Price: $80.00
  • 2021 Davies Vineyards " Nobles Vineyard" Pinot Noir
    Fort Ross-Seaview, Sonoma Coast
    Expand
Owned and managed by the Nobles family, this vineyard produces bright, complex, and richly layered Pinot Noir grapes. It is located approximately 75 miles north of San Francisco, on the north Sonoma Coast, in the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA. Ending notes of marionberry and espresso lead to a long finish.” - Winemakers Jessica Koga, Sean Thompson and Hugh Davies

Description

Davies Vineyards
Initially, the Davies family planted their historic estate vineyards to the traditional Methode Traditionnelle grape varieties in 1965, to support the crafting of Schramsberg sparkling wines. Over time, as new cool-climate vineyard sites across California’s North Coast became available for sparkling wine production, it was determined that the Diamond Mountain property was better suited to the cultivation of red Bordeaux varietals. Today, expanding from the knowledge gained through the production of the J. Davies Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, our collection of Cabernet Sauvignon offerings is an exploration of Napa Valley vineyard sites located across the county.

In 2009, after 42 years of working with some of the best Pinot Noir growers in California’s North Coast for the sparkling wine program, the Davies produced their first Pinot Noir still wines. Sourcing from vineyard sites in Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino counties, the winemaking team have partnered with unique sites such as Ferrington Vineyards, Goorgian Vineyards, Nobles Vineyard and Hyde Vineyards, which deliver delicious fruit that epitomize a specific growing area.
