  • 2022 Dawson Vineyard Rose of Pinot Noir
    Los Carneros
    Expand
Dawson family farm is located in the heart of Sonoma Carneros AVA with 4 acres of Pinot Noir grapes and 150 Tuscan Blend olive trees. The vineyard enjoys the cool wind from the San Pablo Bay and Pacific Ocean, which creates a uniquely moderate climate of warm summer days and cool, foggy nights. This perfect weather lends itself beautifully to a long growing season—and it's great for producing excellent Pinot Noir fruit. The vineyard is certified organic by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) and farmed with practices that respect the environment. Such a beautiful bouquet of orange blossom, watermelon, mineral and pretty white flowers. The entry is soft yet nicely structured, and it’s round and voluptuous at the same time. Delicate flavors of plum, white peach and raspberry are intense and mouthwatering, on the palate it’s a tad savory… The finish is wonderfully persistent.
    Suggested Retail Price: $38
  • 2021 Dutton Ranch Pinot Blanc
    Russian River Valley
    Expand
Since the mid-1960’s, the Dutton family has been one of the most respected grape growers in Sonoma county and have been dedicated to sustaining the land for future generations; the vineyards are farmed Sonoma County Sustainable and Certified Fish Friendly. We were lucky to receive a small allocation of this relatively rare variety. Such a beautiful and engaging bouquet; guava, pineapple, citrus notes, cherimoya, Asian pear and white flowers. This is a mouthwateringly lovely wine with rich, round, silky texture, yet it’s crisp, bright, lively, happy and ebullient. Flavors of tangerine zest, ripe peach, mineral and stone fruit fill your palate. The finish is persistent, it has so much going on, it will require many, many, many tastes!
    Suggested Retail Price: $55
  • 2017 Starscape Vineyard Pinot Noir
    Russian River Valley
    Expand
Starscape Vineyard (previously named Floodgate and prior to that, Mark West Vineyard) is located on Trenton-Healdsburg Road on the southern end of an area known as the Middle Reach of the Russian River. The Middle Reach is arguably the most iconic area for Russian River Pinot noir. We source Dijon 777 and an old block of Pommard from a south-facing slope composed of Laniger loam soils. An East-facing slope is the home of a younger planting of Dijon 828, one of the more recent imports to California. Such a beautiful bouquet of violets, boysenberry jam, white pepper and cranberry… On the palate this wine is fascinating; bright, juicy, dense, mouthcoating, savory and rich with flavors of plum, rhubarb, barrel spice, gravel, blackberry, cherry, herbs and a whisper of moist earth. It has so many layers... This wine will reward you with airing time in the decanter or glass.
    Suggested Retail Price: $68
  • 2018 Destein Vineyard Pinot Noir
    Bennett Valley
    Expand
The Destein estate vineyard sits on a west-facing slope in isolated Jamison valley at the east end of the Bennett Valley AVA. It takes the brunt of cool air flowing through the Petaluma Gap from the Pacific Ocean, allowing ample flavor development through generous hang time resulting from cool growing season temperatures. The vines are small, with a great natural balance and small fruit load that is the result of scanty, non-vigorous soils. Just 47 cases made! A welcoming bouquet of herbes de provence, dark chocolate, black cherry, sandalwood and a funky yet elegant muski-ness… The tannins are soft, the texture is graceful, rich, round and lush; it’s a mouthful of little velvet pillows. Such fun flavors of cranberry, blackberry, earthy slate and charcoal integrate seamlessly with tart apples and cherry pie. This is a very interesting and complex wine that lays itself out for you to slow down and pay attention.
    Suggested Retail Price: $85
  • 2019 Wildcat Mountain Vineyard Pinot Noir
    Sonoma Coast
    Expand
Situated high on the southern flank of the mountain range defining the western edge of Sonoma Valley, Wildcat Mountain Vineyard is an outlier relative to any other vineyards in the area. The highest vineyard in the appellation at an elevation of 750’, it sits on well-drained rocky soils of volcanic origin, exposed to the full brunt of fog and grapes. Formerly grazing land, the vineyard was established by Nancy and Tony Lilly with their partner, Steve MacRostie in 1998. The quality of the vineyard bears testimony to the vision and tenacity of several generations of Nancy's family, which has been the steward of this land since 1940. Classic Wildcat minerally earthiness greets you right up front, along with white pepper, pine needles, granite, oyster shell and a hint of red plum. The texture is soft and broad with a graceful, elegant lingering finish.
    Suggested Retail Price: $78
