The Calling was born from our founders’ passion for wine and their shared dream to create an outstanding collection of California wines.
Peter Deutsch and Jim Nantz both had successful careers of their own before they met. But after a chance meeting in 2009, the two embarked on a new vision - to create The Calling as a tribute to their fathers who were instrumental in helping each of them pursue their dreams and discover their own callings.
Our winemaker, James MacPhail excels in crafting our beautiful expressions of Pinot Noir as well as Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Our fruit is sourced from our long-standing family growers and esteemed vineyards throughout best-in-class AVAs.
By sharing Jim, Peter and James’ immense passion, they invite others to pursue their own dreams and to realize their own callings.
