  Wrath’s blend of clones 777 and Pommard 4 has always showcased the dark, earthy side of our estate pinot fruit and the 2020 vintage is no exception. The nose shows off dark fruit and earthy forest floor. • 2020 Wrath Ex Vite Pinot Noir

  The name Ex Vite means "from the vine" in Latin. It's an appropriate moniker for a wine that utilizes 100% whole clusters during the fermentation process. This rich and layered Pinot Noir offers aromas of dark berries and cherry complimented with hints of dried herbs and anise. Flavors of black raspberry and black cherry become denser towards the finish and finish quite long with earthy tannins and a touch of spice.

  Wines made from master-grower Steve McIntyre’s vineyard often exhibit the telltale characteristics of Santa Lucia Highlands terroir. Our 2020 McIntyre Vineyard Pinot Noir is no exception. Comprised of 100 percent 115 clone and made with 20 percent whole-cluster fermentation, it is dense and complex, with pomegranate, a touch of smoke and a mineral element.   Though our estate vineyard shares the same soil as the SLH AVA- Arroyo Gravelly Loam and Hanford Gravelly Sandy Loam- its slightly lower altitude gives it a unique microclimate with cooler nights and warmer days. Deep and dense, the 2020 San Saba Pinot Noir has aromas of spice box that join red fruit and minerals on the nose. This rich Pinot Noir has layers of spice, black and red cherry along with a pleasing earthiness and acidity that move effortlessly into a persistent spice/potpourri finish. • 2020 Wrath Lemoravo Vineyard Pinot Noir

  Lemoravo Vineyard sits at 400 feet above the Salinas Valley floor, on the eastern slopes of the Santa Lucia Highlands. It is a small vineyard, only 28 acres, and is part of Kirk Williams’ portfolio of properties. As a tribute to this land’s history, the name is a threeword portmanteau as a tribute to its former crops: Lemons, Oranges and Avocados. This Wrath’s first bottling of Lemoravo Vineyard fruit and we’ve found the grapes to have classic SLH character with black and red berry flavors, a touch of herbs, and some mineral/earthiness. The wine begins with aromas of stone fruit (Pluot) and ripe strawberries with a hint of eucalyptus and opens to flavors of blackberry balanced with cinnamon and anise and spicy white peppercorn. The texture is soft and long, leading to a finish that has some tart cherry and lingering spices. Certified Sustainable (SIP)

• 2019 Wrath Cortada Alta Vineyard Pinot Noir

  Wrath’s newest vineyard offering, Cortada Alta is the highest vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands. At 1,400 feet, the vines sit above the fog in a notch between granite outcroppings that collected rich loam soil. Both Mariafeld and Wadenswill pinot clones came to California from Switzerland in the 1950s. Mariafeld has a unique flavor and higher acidity than other pinots. Wadenswill is prized for its aromatics and ability to grow and ripen in a cold climate. This wine exhibits alluring depth and richness. A fruit forward nose offers an intriguing combination of Ranier cherry and boysenberry with undertones of thyme. The palate is seamless yet complex with a compelling mélange of red fruit, ripe tannins and bright acidity

  Wrath’s previous vintages of Tondré Grapefield Pinot Noirs have shared a distinctive quality that comes from the terroir of this outstanding vineyard. The 2020 pairs that quality with rich fruit in a blend of Pommard 4, 115 and 493 clones. The finished product combines plum, tart boysenberries, graphite and hints of cocoa to form a decadent and dense Pinot Noir that is able to remain nimble due to its expressive acidity and integrated tannins.
